Patchwork Festival Santa Ana June 6th 2010

Well, here is your little recap from my Art show this past weekend.

First of all ....HUGE thank you to Sara and Max for helping me with my display and set up. It was a HUGE hit. All the sticks were interactive with everyone...it was a hunt and peck show and it would cause people to really spend some time at my booth...which would lead to excitement from others. Everyone was wondering what was going on over at the Rubyblu table because they had to really look at all of the branches.
ahahah So, thank you very much!

The Day started off really well. Max and I left the house shortly after 8am and got to the show for set up around 8:45. Around 10:30 people starting trickling in....at 11am it was on.
At around 12 a girl from the OC weekly came by introduced herself and gave me her business card. She said that she wanted to take a pic of my table..loved the display and jewelry and would like to help me blog or get the word out in any way she could if I ever needed it. I thought that was a good way to start off the day.
By around 2pm...I had had some sales....but I started to slash my prices...I thought that they were a little steep in the first place so I started slashing.....and sure enough...they started to quickly move off the sticks. ahah
At around 4:3O i came back from a 20 min break and there were 2 ladies that had been at my booth for 10 min. Long story short....the lady wanted to buy my favorite Fuchsia flower earrings that I made in my first metalsmithing class. She was so in awe over them that she stuck around for 10 min to ask me about them. She asked me how much...i told her...and sure enough she bought them. I was floored! I am so happy that " Wendella" is going to have herself some pretty cool earrings. The best part...and I think the best compliment...is that she is a retired Art teacher from Portland Oregon. Needless to say....I haven't stopped smiling since I met her. :)

I have attached some pics. Compliments of Max...my papzi.

Pics from the OC Weekly. I am on the second page. Yay for Free Media Pics! ( It isnt very good...but not too shabby for my first show :) )

The same girl that writes for the OC weekly ( similar to "The Other Paper" in Ohio) writes a blog for the OC weekly too.
Here is what she had to say about it. Pretty cool.
